Frequently Asked Questions

🔍 What does this tool do?

Our free web‑based downloader lets you grab high‑resolution YouTube video thumbnails—individually or in bulk—by pasting video links or IDs. Behind the scenes we fetch maxresdefault.jpg (or the best available fallback) and package them for instant download, including a convenient ZIP export for power users.

💡 Is it really free?

Yes. No sign‑ups, paywalls, or browser extensions—just paste a link and download. We cover hosting costs with minimal, non‑intrusive ads; you never pay a cent or share personal data.

📦 Can I download every thumbnail at once?

Absolutely. After the thumbnails load, click Download  All as ZIP. We bundle the JPGs into a compressed archive so you keep folder clutter to a minimum.

📱 Is the site mobile‑friendly?

It is. The interface is built with responsive Tailwind CSS utilities and thoroughly tested on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and tablet browsers. Long‑press on a thumbnail to save it directly, or use the ZIP option for batch jobs.

📺 Which resolution do you fetch?

We try maxresdefault.jpg first (1280 × 720 or better). If YouTube hasn’t generated that file yet, we gracefully fall back to sddefault.jpg or hqdefault.jpg so you still get a crisp image.

🚫 Do you store video URLs or user data?

No. All processing happens client‑side in your browser, and we disable server‑side logging of query parameters. Check our Privacy Policy for full details.

⚖️ Is downloading thumbnails legal?

Yes—YouTube serves thumbnails openly without authentication, and you may download them for fair‑use purposes such as commentary, education, research, or personal archiving. For commercial use, always respect the creator’s copyright and YouTube’s TOS.

💼 Can I use thumbnails in commercial projects?

Thumbnails remain copyrighted by the original uploader. You may incorporate them in reviews or news reporting under fair use, but for marketing materials or resale products you should obtain permission or license the image.

🔒 Why can’t I fetch thumbnails from private or age‑restricted videos?

YouTube only exposes thumbnail URLs publicly for videos that are public or unlisted. Private, members‑only, or age‑gated content blocks unauthenticated thumbnail access, so our tool cannot bypass those restrictions.

🐞 Thumbnail not loading—what now?

Double‑check the URL format (e.g., https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID orhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID). If it still fails, clear your browser cache or try an incognito window—aggressive extensions can block cross‑origin image requests.
